Fine Silver Trinket / Jewel Box Birmingham 1922

A splendid and very fine solid silver Trinket / Jewel Box! This box is oval shaped. With no engraving or embossing, the plain polished silver gives this item a wonderful simple and chic appearance. The lid is hinged at the back and opens and closes perfectly. When opened the lovely gilded interior of the lid is revealed along with the blue fabric dressed interior featuring a blue rope edge. It stands on four petite, pretty feet. The underneath of the box bears a leather panel. Very clear hallmarks are visible to the underneath for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1922 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker''s mark is also clearly visible : Deakin & Francis. Partial hallmarks can also be seen on the front of the lid.
 
 
 
The box is nicely proportioned (6.3 cm deep x 9cm width x 5.3 cm height ) .
 
This is a very fine Trinket Box, it is beautiful and also very practical for housing special trinkets. Great as a gift!...
