Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reign of King William IV from 1830 to 1837, this furniture style bridges the refined elegance of the Regency era and the heavier ornamentation of the early Victorian period, characterised by bold scrolls, turned columns, and rich flame mahogany veneers.

Cabinetmakers typically utilised solid mahogany and flame mahogany veneers, complemented by brass wire grille panels, pleated silk or fabric door linings, and hand-dovetailed joinery within the interior structure.

Look for characteristic motifs such as carved anthemion or scroll upstands, turned side columns, authentic hand-cut joinery inside the carcase, original brass mesh door inserts, and natural patina across dark timber surfaces.

Position the cabinet against a neutral or dark wall to highlight its timber grain, styling the flat top with contemporary ceramics, framed artwork, or brass table lamps to balance modern and period elements.

Dust the wooden surfaces with a soft microfibre cloth and apply beeswax periodically along the grain, while gently dusting the wire mesh doors with a soft brush to protect the delicate textile backing.
