A very handsome larger than average sized solid silver Vesta Case. This very stylish Vesta is a simple plain polished silver with no engraving or embossing and has lovely rounded edges and is slightly convex, so feels tactile and lovely to hold in the hand. It has a hinged lid and opens and closes perfectly with a nice ''snap''. Hallmarks are visible on the inside lip of the Vesta with partial marks on the lid, for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1901 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker''s mark is also visible for Nathan & Hayes. The striker is at the bottom edge. Condition: A super Vesta case in lovely antique collector''s condition.
