An excellent original antique Victorian military campaign chest of drawers in teak. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1860-70’s.

It is a great size and is a very useful item. It comes apart in two main pieces, with brass carry handles on the side of each section. There are also lovely recessed brass handles on the drawers and brass fixtures on the corners. These were originally designed for use in military campaigns, so they could be more easily transported around with the officers.

The quality is excellent, the drawers have fine hand cut dovetailed joints, and the upper right drawer is divided into compartments. The lower section sits on nicely turned bun feet.

This has a wonderful patina and plenty of character. We have had it re-polished, but have left all the various small marks and imperfections it has acquired over the years.
