Description

A fine late 18th Century wire work basket made of Old Sheffield Plate. No makers mark but bearing a fantastic central crest for the Vernon family of Sudbury Hall. Exquisite workmanship with a highly patterned pierced rim and beautiful firm loop handle.

The condition is very good overall with only minor wear to the plate with copper bleed visible to the raised edges and crest. One wire loop is missing but this doesn't really detract from the piece.
