A Heavy Old Sheffield Plated Meat Platter by Roberts Smith & Co

Description

A fine heavy meat platter made of Old Sheffield Plate. Marked to the base for the makers Roberts Smith & Co of Sheffield c1828. Bearing a beautiful crest on an inlaid silver cartouche opposite a blank inlaid silver cartouche. Wonderful detail to edges and stylised shell handles.

The condition is good with only minor copper bleed to the raised edges and a few surface marks from age and use.
