Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne style seating is defined by its graceful, curvilinear forms, most notably cabriole legs terminating in pad or claw feet. Originating in the early 18th century, this design emphasises refined proportion, minimal surface carving, and figured hardwood grain over heavy ornamentation.

Frames are typically crafted from hardwoods such as solid mahogany or walnut, known for their deep colour and fine grain. Seats are commonly fitted with drop-in or fixed cushions upholstered in hand-stitched wool needlepoint, tapestry, or silk damask.

Authentic historic construction features hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery, natural irregularities in hand-worked wooden rails, and uneven wear on foot pads. Needlepoint upholstery often exhibits aged linen backing and subtle colour variations from historic vegetable dyes.

Place the stool at the foot of a bed, beneath a console table, or alongside a hearth as an accent seat. The warm timber tones and patterned upholstery complement both classic English country interiors and contemporary layered spaces.

Dust the mahogany frame regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish occasionally to nourish the timber. Protect needlepoint textiles from direct sunlight to prevent fading and vacuum gently using a soft brush attachment.
