A very Rare 17th Century Oak Panel of a Winged Witch with a love apple. This panel related to the other panels I have listed of the Mandrakes. The round fruits of Mandrake /Mandragora, once known as “love apples,” ripen to a pale yellow in May, and develop a bewitching fragrance.The Mandrake has centuries old history as one of the most important and powerful plants in witchcraft, sorcery and herbal medicine as well as a primary component of Magical Potions . Witches applied or ingested these ointments to help them fly to gatherings with other witches or meet the devil.
