1920s Limit full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement was made by Thommen for Limit and is signed Limit, Swiss made. Limit were importers of watches into the UK, and they were based in Oldham in Lancashire, UK. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

Hirst Brothers made the watches and also imported watches from Switzerland and re-branded them Limit.

The watch itself measures 50.8mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and has the importers name for Hirst brothers. The case has light surface marking from use and a couple of small “dings” to the front cover but overall it is in nice condition for a 1920s piece.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in nice condition, as is the dial with original hands.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
