Antique Regency Mahogany Bookcase Secretaire C1820

Antique Regency Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase and dating from around 1820. Constructed from quality mahogany it has a moulded cornice top above a deep crossbanded frieze and two glazed doors with brass escutcheon and working key. Internally there are three original and fully adjustable shelves. To the base there is a deep secretaire drawer with moulded panel and crossbanded edges and with original brass handles, lock escutcheon and key. This folds down to reveal a nice interior with three satinwood fronted drawers with brass handles. There is a satinwood frieze above assorted pigeon holes. It has a green baize writing surface. The secretaire sits above two panelled doors with original brass escutcheon and key and has an internal shelf. The whole is raised on bracket feet and the top separates from the base for ease of transporting.
