Antique Elgin Pocket Watch

Antique Elgin pocket watch.

The watch has a grade 293 seven jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. This grade was in production from 1904 until 1943. The serial number of this particular movement is 23,751,297 which dates it back to 1921. The gilded movement is fully signed with the Elgin name and it is all protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold filled Moon model from the Dennison Watch Case Company. Overall the case is in good condition with just light surface marks, and a couple of small marks where the loop has pressed on the case.

The movement and case are not original to each other but both are of a similar age.

The watch glass is in lovely condition.

The signed dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
