Antique Waltham silver pocket watch, 1896.

The watch has a seven jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number, 7,688,626, dates it back to 1896.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is coin silver which is 90% silver as opposed to sterling silver which is 92.5%, and it was made by the Crescent Watch Case Company. It is a good quality case with screw-on bezel and case back. The back of the watch has engine turned detail and an engraving with initials to the centre but quite rubbed after years of being in a pocket. There is the odd mark to the case but not too detrimental for a piece of its age.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.

The dial is in good condition. There are a couple of short faint hairlines towards the edge of the dial but they are difficult to see with the naked eye. Blued steel hands (one is a period replacement), sunken subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers with red numerals.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
