George III Blunderbuss

Description

A George III Blunderbuss.

The blunderbuss with a brass flared and ringed muzzle, stepped with a reeded ring and finished with broad rings, fronting the steel flint lock mechanism. The underside with a broad spooned trigger guard, finished with a finial. The ringed pipes holding the ram rod. The whole within a walnut body, the butt finished with a brass plate. The barrel proof marked twice and engraved for 'LONDON'. The mechanism with slide safety, and engraved for the maker 'HADLEY'.

All in very good and attractive condition.

Date circa 1790.
