Rare Victorian Red Eyed Golden Lion Sceptre Brooch

Description

A wonderful antique brooch in the form of an ornate ringed sceptre with a beast's (lion? dog? leopard?!) head surmount. The head is beautifully modelled and highly detailed with ruby-red eyes. The whole brooch is completely three dimensional and decorated on every surface. A rare and fantastic piece for any collector.

The pin secures with a simple C clasp.

The brooch is in very good antique condition; there is some wear to the golden surface, see photos.

Size: 6.5 x 1.5cm.

Weight: 8.2g.
