It is signed bottom right, A Perez and inscribed in pencil Alonso Perez on a label verso. The mahogany panel on which it is painted bears a label for the Parisian art supplier Romain Barillier. The label enables the painting to be dated to between 1893 and 1914 a period when Perez is known to have been working in ParisAlonso Pérez (fl. 1881–1914) was a Spanish painter who worked at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries.He began his artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zaragoza, followed by further instruction in Madrid. In 1889 he moved to Paris where he settled with his brother Luis, a composer. It is from this period that this painting dates.
