Description

A lovely set of early Victorian brass fire irons or tools dating to c1850. They comprise a shovel, pair of tongs and poker. The poker has a cast steel long tip, and is very strong. The handles are formed of a spiral, with rings and finials, and the tongs have arched shoulders with a central medallion on each side. The shovel is a good deep one, with pierced decoration. These are a really good quality set, in excellent condition, with a good working weight but not too heavy. They burnished up beautifully with a polish.
