Description

Handsome Regency mahogany bow front sideboard c.1820. Useful small size, just 45½" long. Solid single piece mahogany top with a reeded edges. Over three drawers with solid mahogany drawer fronts, cockbeaded edges and particularly attractive period replacement brass handles. Arched apron below the slim middle drawer. Raised on excellent turned and tapering legs with crisp carved reeding and shaped feet front and rear. Interesting papyrus leaf detail to top of the front legs, a nice example of the fashion for Egyptian inspired design in the Regency period. With an old repair to the front edge of the top, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
