Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Mid-century diamond rings typically feature diamonds cut in earlier hand-faceted proportions, such as the old European cut, reset or created during the mid-20th century. These pieces often pair classic solitaire stones with textured, engraved, or sculpted shoulders crafted in platinum or white gold.

Rings from this era commonly utilise high-purity platinum or 18-carat white gold for the setting to complement the white brilliance of diamonds. Detailed hand-engraving, filigree, and multi-claw settings were standard construction techniques.

Authenticity is verified by assessing the diamonds facet pattern, looking for an open culet or small table characteristic of older cuts, alongside hallmarks stamped inside the band indicating metal purity and makers marks.

The understated profile of a solitaire diamond allows it to pair effortlessly with contemporary minimalist tailoring as well as classic formal wear, functioning as a refined focal point.

Clean the ring using warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from under the setting. Regular professional inspections ensure that the claws remain secure around the gemstone.
