Penderyn Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The coffer is of simple construction and is made from six solid elm planks. There is an old iron lock plate to the front and the initials ‘TW’ to either side of the lock plate. Finished with a fresh coat of natural wax.

CONDITION REPORT:
In well-worn antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, staining and fading, and scratches to the top and front (pictured). There is evidence of old historic woodworm throughout - this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. A well worn piece of antique furniture but with plenty of charm and character.
