A Jaques Staunton Unweighted Boxwood & Ebony Chess Set, circa 1900

green baizes to the undersides, both kings stamped: JAQUES LONDON in red, in a mahogany box, with plum coloured baize lining, a sliding lid and green label: THE Staunton Chessmen... (with Howard Staunton’s facsimile signature)... J. JAQUES & SON, LTD., LONDON, ENGLAND.

King: 9cm (3 1/2 inches) high

Pawn: 5cm high

Box: 16.5cm long, 13.2cm wide, 9.6cm high.
