Art Deco Ladies 10k Rolled Gold Wrist Watch by Elgin, Serviced, C1931

Description

For your consideration is this beautifully restored Ladies wrist watch by the American watch company Elgin. On first viewing one can't not be impressed by the dial, for a 90 year old watch it's almost flawless, yet totally original and untouched aside a light clean. Recently serviced last month, this watch keeps good time and has also been ultrasonically cleaned so it's as hygienic as possible. Also fitted with a new soft leather strap. Perfect watch for any lady as daytime wear and evening. It is fitted with a good-quality 17-jewel Elgin Cal. 483 movement . The 483 was manufactured from 1925 to 1937 and features a Breguet hairspring, as used by other high-end watchmakers, including Rolex, and noted for aiding more consistent timekeeping throughout the duration of the wind.

The movement has the serial number of 32748191, which gives it a manufacture date of 1931.

Width: 22mm, excluding crown.

Length: 37mm total length to tips of the lugs.

Thickness: 9mm, including crystal.

Viewable dial/crystal: 18mm x 22mm.

Strap: 16mm wide, tapering slightly to 14mm at the buckle.

Wrist fitting: The watch should fit a wrist size of between 160mm and 190mm.
