In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The quality is excellent and it was likely an apprentice piece or a salesman's sample. It is made from mahogany and has two short over three long drawers and stands on bracket feet with an overhanging top.
It is in good original condition. It has a nice warm patina and it is sturdy and the joints are strong. The drawers are clean and tidy and all open smoothly. There are some general signs of age and use and minor marks, some small chips and minor losses (all photographed) and one lock is missing and has been replaced with a metal plate but overall it displays very well and there are no major damages or anything detrimental.
