1930s Swiss pocket watch with original box.

The watch has a good quality Swiss 15 jewel, three adjustments, stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some scratching where a tool has slipped in the past.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and it is in good condition. There is a small bruise on the bezel and slight unevenness to the hinged case back. General light surface marks.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The dial is signed with the name of the original retailer, W W Kemp & Son, Regent House, Bristol.

The company was established in 1881 and moved to Regent House in 1920. In 1933, the shop had to be temporarily closed while Cary Grant, who was born in Bristol, was choosing an engagement ring for his first bride.

There are hairline cracks to the dial.

The watch comes in its original presentation box from W W Kemp & Son.
