Description

A late 19th century antique elm smoker’s bow chair or captain’s armchair. The smoker’s bow chair has shaped arms with turned spindle supports. The solid elm seat has a good grain pattern and is raised on four turned legs with a double H stretcher support.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with various signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and staining to the seat (pictured). There are marks and further wear to the back rest and arms. The smoker’s bow armchair remains structurally solid and sound with good tight joints.
