Large Carved Oak Hall Bench C.1880.

Description

Impressive renaissance revival carved oak hall bench c.1880. Tall and elaborately carved backrest featuring eagles, lions masks (with brass rings), winged cherubs, moustachioed heads and a central panel carved with a hunting scene. All raised on acanthus carved spindles over a sturdy lattice seat with moulded edges. Straight arms with moulded tops, on turned supports. On excellent turned front legs over sleigh feet joined to the rear stiles, carved with darts, with floor level stretchers. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
