The small figure of a kneeling lamb nestles in heart shaped scrolls to each skirt.
The mirror plates may well be 18th Century and original or may be early 19th century replacements. Each plate has considerable age and has soft background foxing which does not diminish the clarity of reflection and is attractive evidence of age as shown in our photographs. One mirror has a small loss to the mirror silver in the bottom right hand corner. Both mirror plates have a lovely soft grey/gold hue to the glass.
Some old worm holes to the backs, long since dead, light surface wear to the original gilt finish and some old and small professional restorations.
An exceptional and very rare true pair of 18th century English mirrors which look absolutely stunning when hung.
