Victorian Cased Set of Six Silver Napkin Rings

19th century
Description

A lovely set of late Victorian English silver napkin rings in their original tooled red leather box fitted with red velvet and cream satin. Embossed and engraved pretty swirling foliate type design, each with an unengraved shaped circular cartouche. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1899, maker William Vale & Sons.

They each measure 4.8cm (1 7/8") wide and 2cm (3 /4") deep. The case measures 16cm (6 3/8") long, 6cm (2 3/8") wide and 6.3cm (2 1/2") high. Total silver weight 86g / 2.8ozt. Total weight in case 182g.

They are in excellent condition and the case is also very good; the inside is excellent and very minor wear to the outside bar a small strip of leather on the underside that had torn and been re-stuck. The clasp is fine. They would make a super gift being unengraved.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
