Lincoln Restorations has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
A rare antique steamer trunk in a stunning working condition.
This Lovely trunk is made from wood with a canvas rexine covering with metal edgings and straps braced with wooden ribbings. This trunk is completely original and shows lots of signs of its age and usage. The chest bares the original owners address label on the outside and on the inside lid which we feel is quite charming. We have just cleaned and waxed this trunk to give it a lustrous natural sheen and preserve the coated canvas and protect the item for many more years to come. This trunk features the original brown canvas covering, some old travel labels which we have left as part of its history, original internal paper lining and the original metal handles (one looks to have been replaced with some sort of wire). This lovely original condition suitcase is also complete with lock latches which all operate but we do not have a key, it does not lock closed.

With this chest having a flat top it could be ideal to be used as a coffee table, vintage/retro chest for storage or just be used as a room decor/blanket chest.
Please note; This item is in very good condition for its age but will obviously have the odd slight blemishes and here and there, however, we feel that this adds to the charm and authenticity of the item with it being antique.

Also note, this listing is for the bottom trunk only, however, the other may still be available at our shop separately
