Gearings Ltd of Cape Town Bronze Desk Piece

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1920-1940 a bronze desk piece/paper weight of a four blade propellor set in a tray with the wording 'With Compliments' at the top, 'Cape Town' in the middle, and 'Gearings Ltd' at the bottom.

It weighs 1.4kgs and it is 15cm in height and the diameter of the tray is 16cm. It is in good condition with no signs of damage, and it has been professionally polished.

Harry Charles Gearing was born in 1878 in Southampton and became Managing Director and later Chairman of Gearings Ltd in Capetown, a well known and prominent engineering firm.
