A superb antique wedding cake knife in the original case. The knife has a lovely solid mother of pearl handle which completely compliments the silver blade. The blade is beautifully engraved on one side with serrated edge and is a plain polished silver on the reverse side. Clear, crisp hallmarks are visible on both the blade and the silver collar (see images). The blade hallmarks are Sheffield with a date mark for 1913, along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and silver maker''s mark for the silversmith: Sutherland & Roden. There is a silver collar where the handle joins the blade with matching hallmarks, apart from the date which is 1909.
