French Henry IV Coffer C1600

Description

A French Henry IV circa 1600 walnut coffer, the top having a moulded edge and retaining the original steel strap hinges with candle box to the interior. The decoratively carved arched frieze above the bold moulded front with fielded panel centre. Flanked by tapering and carved square columns leading to the gadrooned and moulded frieze and raised on block feet. Dimensions:- Height…32’’/ 81cm. Width…55.25’’/ 144.5cm. Depth…26.5’’/ 67cm.
