Description

A substantial late 19thC hoop and stick back chair c1880. The hoop and stick back is likely made of ash and the frame, legs and particularly the seat, of elm. The arms have a wide curve and the centre back of the frame is notched for strength. The chair is supported by turned legs and an H stretcher. The patina, grain and colour is superb, especially the elm seat. This chair can take weight, and is thoroughly comfortable. In remarkably good condition.

The inner dimensions of the seat are 40cm wide x 38cm depth. The seat height from floor is 48cm.
