Description

A myriad of creatures of all types, dominate the indigo-blue field of this charming bread sofreh, woven by Afshar nomads circa 1920s.

The bread sofreh was used specifically for kneading dough before baking the delicious Persian flat-bread called 'lavash'. This sofreh is in excellent condition and particularly attractive are the chevron ends, top and bottom.

There are one or two messages in Persian script of which one states 'A mother knows separation and a sad heart'! Beautiful!
