Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Louis XV style is defined by Rococo influences, featuring fluid curves, asymmetrical motifs, molded frames, and distinctive cabriole legs. Revived prominently in the mid-19th century, these designs emphasise comfort, refined carving, and elegant silhouettes.

Chairs from this era were typically crafted from solid hardwoods such as walnut, mahogany, or rosewood. Internal construction relied on traditional joinery, horsehair padding, steel coil springs, and woven jute webbing under woven textile or damask upholstery.

Authentic period pieces display hand-carved frame details, hand-cut mortise and tenon joints, and natural age-related patina on the timber. The underside often reveals historic tool marks, traditional corner blocking, and evidence of original upholstery techniques.

These curved, ornate chairs provide a strong visual contrast when paired with a clean-lined wooden or marble dining table. Incorporating subtle, contemporary upholstery fabrics allows historic carved frames to integrate smoothly into modern interior schemes.

Timber frames should be dusted regularly with a soft cloth and conditioned annually with high-quality beeswax. Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage, joint loosening, and fabric fading.
