This is a 19th century three draw rosewood bodied telescope, signed, ‘S. Lee, Optician to her Majesty, 100 New Street, Birmingham’. The telescope has a brass end cap and the brass dust skiderto the eye piece, complete in a fitted case.
Samuel Lee worked from this address from 1837 – 1842.
It measures 26cm h x 5cm w when closed and approx 77cm l when fully opened.
The telescope produces a good image.
