A pair of gilded bronze pricket candlesticks, each on shaped triangular base, with raised foliate ornaments to base and baluster stem, large plain spreading drip-pan with plain candle pricket, circa 1690.
 
This set of two Baroque pricket candlesticks were used for lighting Christian churches, particularly Roman-Catholic churches, South-Netherlands, most likely Antwerp, late 17th century.
 
Often they were placed aside the altar or important religious sculptures. They were also used in rich domestic dwellings.
