Lincoln Restorations has dated this piece to the 1850s.
A stunningly carved and substantial tilt top mahogany table.
This lovely table is complete with its original French polished finish throughout with a lightly faded original colour, lots of patina, charm and character.

This tilt top table is made from all solid Mahogany featuring a beautifully shaped and fluted large base going to 4 proportionate fluted and scroll carved legs which stand on its original solid polished brass castors on white porcelain wheels. This table has a small overall form yet is versatile from having an oval-shaped top managing to comfortably seat 4 to 6 people and be used as a dining room or breakfast table. Already not taking up too much room because of this shape, the top tilts up-right for storage and is removable via 3 large wing bolts with polished brass heads. One large centre screw is unthreaded to tilt the top upright, the table also features an extra wooden support for the table when it is tilted so it cannot fall like many other tilt tops would.

This table is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs, however being an antique item of this age there are aesthetic blemishes and scuffs here and there which we feel adds to its originality and heritage.

We have sympathetically restored this item maintaining original patina by just carefully waxing this item to enhance the French polished surface and preserve it for many years to come.
