Unlike counterpart boxes, this box most certainly is in a class of its own with a luxurious and large/thick size which allows for such motifs to be displayed magnificently, further highlighting the precision, craftsmanship and care that has gone into the making of this snuff box.
Further desirable features can be found on the top lid of this snuff box which presents at first glance, a "simple" design. Yet upon closer inspection, one can appreciate its unique large cartouche and its contrasting fine chased border that encompasses the whole lid.
Whilst most pieces would compete with the most ornate designs and decorations, this box takes the opposite approach of displaying its core magnificence: The minimalist design contrasted even greater by its impactful size further draws out its presence and most certainly stands out from the crowd, leaving a lasting impression on those who are fortunate enough to view it in person.
The cartouche features a beautiful pair of family crests and a central monogram.
Interior wise, the box has a light gilding on its surface that has nicely aged yellowish/gold tone.
In hand, the quality and bold size of the box is ever more apparent with its lid and hinge having a smooth and satisfying closure. In order to aid with the opening of this box, an intricately chased applied thumbpiece is present on the side which matches the chased floral border.
The box is fully hallmarked on both sides of the interior with clear English hallmarks.

CONDITION
Great Condition - The box is in great antique condition with no major damage. For sake of accuracy, there is just a small spot on the base where the engine turned motif is slightly rubbed - however, this cannot be seen when it is placed upright. Please refer to the photographs to examine the condition in further detail.
