Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
They are beautifully executed, with gorgeous details and colours. They appear to be a matching pair and depict two sides of the same hill. One shows a path through a forest, with people heading off into their village, the other side shows a body of water, buildings across the water and the rolling hills in the distance.

These are beautifully mounted in gilt wood and gesso frames with glass fronts protecting the paintings, so the paintings are in excellent condition, with bright and vibrant colours. The frames just have some minor wear here and there, and have a label on the back from the famous Mayfair based Leicester Galleries, Audley Square, London W1.
