Antique Edwardian Collectors Display Cabinet.

A completely original rare piece, ideal for ornaments.

We are delighted to offer this excellent condition antique Edwardian (circa 1900) Sheraton Revival Mahogany inlaid collectors display cabinet. This rare cabinet features the top section housing a glazed display compartment with a hinged and locked (with the original key) lift up top, ideal for storing and displaying small collections, watches or other ornamentals.

Underneath the top display compartment is a pair of individually glazed doors, complete with their original working lock and key. Internally there are 2 glass plate shelves and the interior has been recently re-covered with a cream waterprint damask material which is in lovely clean condition. Almost every area of the frame on this piece incorporates satinwood & boxwood cross-band inlays.

The whole thing stands on square tapering line inlaid legs and spade feet.

Unusually and as a sign of the condition of this item, the glass is all original hand floated glass apart from the 2 shelves which we assume have been replaced at some point. This cabinet has obviously really been looked after as it is in a lovely original condition with its lovely original lightly faded colour and French polished finish.

We have just cleaned and waxed this item to enhance the French polished surface and preserve it for many years to come.

Please note; this item is in very good condition for its age but will have the odd blemish here and there. However, we feel that adds to the charm of the item with it being an antique.
