Georgian Oak Pot Board Dresser

18th century
Description

Georgian oak pot board dresser

This George III oak pot board dresser base was made circa 1810.

This was not in a humble estate cottage but in one of the important kitchens of one of the large farmhouses on a country estate.

Our example here is a wonderful golden honey colour with an unusual drawer formation, consisting of 3 drawers under the top and then 3 small drawers under. The lower small drawers make the stepped fronts that join the front turned lags and the pot-board. There are also the pierced fret brackets at the shoulders that were influenced by the Chinese Chippendale style.

These are fabulous and versatile items that are wonderful pieces to place in your home. They can be used in hallways, drawing rooms, dining rooms and kitchens, providing not only great display and storage also they enhance the home.

Imagine the enjoyment you will gain having ownership of this as well as the pride when you show it off to your family and friends.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
