Description

The Shahsevan produced many fantastic flat-weaves pre-1900, many of which are highly collectible in todays world market-place. However, as 18th and 19th century saddle-bag faces are more likely to be found today, small 'chantehs' or vanity-bags are even rarer.

This stunning chanteh, made circa 1880, is woven in warp-face technique and has a field of crosses woven in sumptuous natural colours. It is complete with plain-weave back.
