Description

A well-proportioned antique 18th century Welsh oak coffer or blanket box. The three panel hinged lid opens to reveal a spacious interior. The Welsh oak coffer has a two panel front with carved floral decoration above. Raised on stile feet.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and staining to the top and front (pictured). There are some splits to the panels including to the top. The Welsh oak coffer remains structurally solid and sound. Replacement hinges. Evidence of old historic wood worm – this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. Some losses to the feet. Overall, a rather lovely Welsh oak coffer of good proportions.
