subtle differences to the more common 'Castellane' Sofa. This is larger, it has a third front leg and the back has a slightly more curved
appearance. I questioned if it was in-fact a castellane when I bought it. But when I removed the old fabric I revealed written on the back
cushions 'Spec Castellane' which could be interpreted in a couple of ways. First is the spec is the Catellane model, or As I have taken it, a
special order Castellane sofa.
a real gem. A little rough at the minute admittedly but the frame is strong as are the springs. Included in the price is replacement casters.
They most likely wont be stamped Howard and sons but they will be period. As well as this sofa being a rare example and a great
investment piece it is extremely comfy making it ideal for everyday use.
