Huge Antler Horn Handled Magnifying Glass - English Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Fittings

Description

An enormous example, measuring 11" in length with a glass diameter measuring 5", quite outstanding.

The antler horn handle is finished with a solid or sterling silver tip and ferrule both with a repousse Art Nouveau design, both hallmarked for Sheffield 1907, so Edwardian in era. The silver also benefits from having the design registration number too (always a highly desirable feature), 399334, which dates this design to 1902.

The nickel framed glass is of course new, making it very usable piece, without damage, clear and with a good magnification.

A superb, grand and impressive desk accessory in excellent condition.
