Lincoln Restorations has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
A charming table for the sewing enthusiast.
We bring to you this outstanding Victorian Mahogany sewing table believed to be made around C1860. This stunning table is in a lovely original condition which we have just enhanced by sympathetically waxing this table preserving the lovely original French polished finish with lightly faded original colour and lots of patina.
Ideal to be placed in any room of any period property and be used as a side or lamp table when not being used for sewing.

This 4 sided square trumpet base table incorporates a Mahogany & Burr Yew wood top featuring satinwood cross-banding and ebony inlays. The table has its original working lock with original key and has a lovely Ebony diamond keyhole escutcheon. When you unlock and lift the stunning top you will uncover a fitted sewing interior with lidded compartments and a centre padded pin cushion which lifts out to reveal a large storage cavity. The interior is predominantly painted black with red velvet to the underside and cushion, which is freshly upholstered. The square trumpet base stands on a finely turned pillar going to 4 carved high quality carved cabriole legs on tiny bun feet, which are all solid and have no breaks or loose joints.

Please note this item is in beautiful condition for its age as shown in the photographs below however being an antique item it does have the odd bump and repair here and there. However, we feel that these points are which adds charm and character to a piece.
