Boxed Antique English Fish Serving Set - Horn Handles C.1890

Description

An absolutely stunning boxed set of fish servers, clearly untouched for years and the presentation box is in great shape, so must have been tucked away in a cupboard for decades.

Dating to around 1880, each piece is marked S.D. Neil. The handles are made from real stag horn, quite outstanding and highly decorative.

Both pieces are pierced or reticulated, and beautifully engraved with typically Victorian Ferns. The pair sits in their original presentation box beautifully silk and velvet lined.

Quite superb in immaculate condition, perfect for serving all sorts of things; as beautiful as useful. The box measures 14 1/4" x 4 1/2"; the knife measuring 13 1/2" and the fork, 10 1/4" in length.
