Description

A beautiful Waring & Gillow flamed mahogany desk Chippendale Style desk. The rectangular solid mahogany top retaining the original brown leather inset writing surface. The front having an arrangement of nine rectangular drawers each with flamed mahogany veneers, traditional pierced brass backplates and handles with mahogany linings and brass locks, bearing the Waring and Gillows stamp and label. Having solid mahogany sides and reverse, the desk raised on carved claw and ball feet. Superb quality and condition throughout, finished all around and can be freestanding or used against a wall. English circa 1900-1910, in wonderful original condition, with minor scuffs to leather commensurate with age and use.
