Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco wristwatches from the 1920s through the 1940s are defined by geometric case shapes, including rectangular, square, and tonneau profiles. They frequently feature clean dial typography, stylized hour markers, decorated lug structures, and sub-seconds dials that reflect the architectural and industrial design trends of the era.

During the 1940s, watchmakers utilized solid gold, stainless steel, and gold filling, which bonded a thick layer of gold to a base metal core. Dials were typically painted or engine-turned metal, crystals were acrylic or glass, and straps were crafted from genuine leather.

Authenticity can be verified by checking for manufacturer markings on the movement, dial, and inside the case back. Mid-century Bulova watches feature specific date codes stamped on the movement and case, along with distinct serial numbers and brand-specific caliber designations.

A vintage rectangular dress watch pairs effectively with modern formal tailoring, business wear, or smart casual outfits. The classic proportions and warm metal tones offer a subtle accent that complements both contemporary jewellery and tailored cuffs.

Mechanical timepieces require regular manual winding and periodic professional servicing every three to five years to keep the movement lubricated and clean. Due to historical construction standards, vintage watches should be kept away from water, strong magnetic fields, and significant physical impact.
