Lincoln Restorations has dated this piece to the 1880s.
An amazing condition original chest of drawers.
This tall chest of drawers features 2 very deep hat drawers to the top row of drawers, one of which is disguised as 2 separate drawers to match the 2 smaller drawers on the right hand side for symmetry. The chest of drawers also has its stunning bobbin turned pillars either side complete with moulded top and base which follows the shape of the turnings which finishes to 4 turned legs. This ornate tall Scottish chest of drawers is in an outstanding condition featuring its original beautiful lightly faded french polished finish with a lovely rich mahogany colour. The chest also features the finest quality original turned mahogany knobs and brass keyhole escutcheons in front of its original double striker locks (no keys). The finely dovetailed Cedar wood drawers are in good condition with a mahogany frontage, smoothly operating with little to no drawer wear and are very clean inside. We have just carefully cleaned and waxed this chest, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen.

Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs below. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches and dents, however, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.
